Hon. Corazon Juliano-Soliman, Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines, and the RC/HC, Ms. Luiza Carvalho, will launch the revision of the “Typhoon Bopha/Pablo Response – An Action Plan for Recovery”.
The revised action plan for Bopha/Pablo, will outline how the humanitarian community will continue to provide life-saving assistance and recovery support to the people in Mindanao, over the coming six months.
To date, US$27 million has been contributed by the international community towards the initial Pablo/Bopha Action Plan requesting $65 million (launched 10 December 2012). More than one month after Bopha/Pablo made landfall, additional funding is urgently required to address major humanitarian needs, including shelter, early recovery and livelihoods, food security and agriculture, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
