Key issues

  • As of 13.00 hrs, since the beginning of hostilities on 14 November, at least 57 Palestinian civilians, including 18 children, have been killed and 740 Palestinians, including 252 children have been injured.
  • Three Israeli civilians have been killed and 127 are reported injured, the vast majority civilians.
  • The increased targeting by the Israeli military of residential properties in Gaza, which have resulted in multiple civilian casualties is of increasing concern.
  • The constant barrage of air strikes and rocket fire is traumatic and the major cause of psychosocial distress for families and especially children. A significant number of children will require some form of psychosocial support beyond what their families normally provide.
