To date, 177 aftershocks following the 7 November 2012 earthquake have been reported, one of them measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale on Sunday, 11 November at 4:15 p.m., local time (INSIVUMEH).

The President declared a State of Calamity in the affected departments: San Marcos, Quetzaltenango, Retalhuleu, Sololá, Quiché, Totonicapán, Huehuetenango and Suchitepéquez.

The organizations present in the country and the international community have sent aid and funds for the first phase of the response.
