COMOROS: A donor round table meeting to launch the Comoros Early Recovery Plan will be held on 5 September 2012, in Pretoria, South Africa.

LESOTHO:
A CERF grant for USD 6.2 million has been approved for Lesotho for the following areas.

Food Security: 1.Emergency agriculture interventions for vulnerable farmers 2.Food parcels or cash transfers to most vulnerable population.

Health and Nutrition: 1.Management of moderate, acute and severe malnutrition 2.Strengthening of disease surveillance

Protection: 1.Prevention and management of gender-based violence

MADAGASCAR:
On 13 August 2012 the SADC Troika mission headed by South Africa, concluded their mission to meet with key political actors in the country, ahead of the 32nd ordinary Head of States SADC Summit in Maputo on 17 and 18 August 2012. Both the expresident Marc Ravalomanana (exiled in South Africa) and Andry Rajoelina (President of the Transition) were invited to attend the Maputo SADC summit.

MALAWI:
On 14 August 2012, the Government of Malawi sent a final Food Security response plan with an appeal of USD 89 million to the UN Resident Coordinator.

TANZANIA:
The Tanzanian Foreign Affairs Minister delivered a clear message about the Lake Nyasa/Lake Malawi border dispute with Malawi confirming that Tanzania will pursue diplomatic solutions only.
