The Transitional Federal Government (TFG) and African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) military offensive to gain control of the Afgooye Corridor that began on 22 May is ongoing. In the first four days of the conflict, some 9,200 persons left their settlements in the Afgooye corridor, with the majority of them fleeing to Mogadishu, according to UNHCR estimates.
