Tonga's Meteorological Service says Cyclone Jasmine is easing and the worst is now over.

The service says that as the cyclone moves further south in the coming hours, the winds will drop and rains will clear.

But the clean-up continues from yesterday's flooding on the main island of Tongatapu, with the government setting up evacuation centres for families who've been affected.
