The security situation in south-eastern Niger remains volatile with Boko Haram launching sporadic raids against villages and IDP camps. Since the beginning of the year, 48 attacks have been recorded in the Diffa region mainly in areas close to the islands of the Lake Chad Basin. Humanitarian operations are being implemented without major impediments, except for temporary restrictions in areas with active counter terrorism operations by the Niger military and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF). According to regional authorities, more than 247, 000 people including 127,300 internally displaced people, 106,146 refugees and 14,546 Nigerien returnees are still displaced.
