The current Cholera Outbreak in the Dadaab Refugee Complex started on the 18-Nov-15. The index case definition was a boy aged ten years from Block T-6, IFO2. UNICEF’s 12-week Plan in response to the outbreak commenced December 2015 with initial funding from UNICEF Regular Resources (USD 629,000) and internal UNICEF loan from the Emergency Programme Fund (USD 700,000). However, challenges still exist especially within the host community as there is a rise in the number of cases. UNICEF is therefore appealing for further funding of USD 2.5 million towards financing its 9-month Cholera Outbreak Preparedness and Control in 30 priority high risk counties with an estimated population of 26 million.
